“The best tutor… this man really knows his stuff.” He literally taught me for one hour and after that, while I self-studied, I completely changed how I approach the text. I already feel like I benefitted so much, I can’t wait for our next study session. Thank you, boss! 100% worth it!

What does the USMLE mean to you?

Hi, I’m Uche Kennedy and over the years I’ve helped dozens of medical students pass their NBMEs and USMLE examinations.

In that time, I’ve gotten to meet incredibly hard-working people who put blood, sweat, and tears into their exam preparation and came out with flying colors on the exams.

Each and every one of those students had a different motivation for wanting to succeed on the exams:

Despite how slightly different these reasons seem to be, they all arise from the personal identity that each of these students had

“Deep down, I AM a medical doctor. This exam is just another obstacle in my way that I will crush!”

And you’ve always known that from the first day you stepped into med school. That’s why even through all the doubts and difficulties, you kept on moving forward because this is who you are.

This is why you push yourself and keep believing even when it’s hard.

This is why you never give up.

This is your destiny!

And every time I’ve had the privilege of personally helping one more medical student succeed on the board exams, the feeling is incredible.

But the students I take aren’t all geniuses. In fact, more than 90% of the people I coached all started from the same level and made the exact same mistake.

Every single one of them, before they met me,
studied like a medical student.

And now you’re probably thinking…

"But Kennedy, what's wrong with studying like a medical student?"

Studying like a medical student is not wrong if you’re trying to do well on your school block exams. But to score high on the USMLE, you need to start studying like a medical doctor.

That’s because the USMLE is meant to test if you’re ready to be licensed as a medical doctor in the United States. So unless you start thinking like a medical doctor, you’re going to struggle with the exams.

And a lot of medical students aren’t prepared to face the USMLE because medical schools prepare you as a medical student while the exams test how much you should know as a doctor!

That disconnect right there is why even above-average students in schools have fears and anxieties about the USMLE and many times even perform below what they expect on the board exams.

To Effectively Prepare For the USMLE,
you Need to Master two skills:

First, Master The USMLE Test Taking Strategies.

Every USMLE question follows a particular structure. Once you learn to identify this structure and you’re familiar with it, it’ll be easier for you to answer questions faster and more accurately. This is because you’ll be able to identify what part of the question holds the most important clue you need to find a solution.

Unlike many examinations that follow different patterns for each question, the USMLE question structure is so precise that it is possible to answer a question using only its first sentence (Yes, and I teach my students how to do this).

Secondly, Integrating High-Yield Concepts (HYCs) Across Multiple Organ Systems.

Remember when I said that the USMLE is meant to test if you’re ready to be licensed as a medical doctor in the United States?

Well this is how they test it!
The human being is a highly intraconnected organism, and every organ system plays a vital role in the well being of all the other systems within a person.

So you’re hardly ever going to see a question on the USMLE that specifically tests for one system without integrating other parts of the body.

This is where most students are thrown off!

If you’re used to studying medicine as subjects (like Pathology or Physiology) or as isolated systems (like Cardio or Respiratory), then you’re going to have a hard time figuring out the interconnection between organ systems as they present on the board exams.

This is why the USMLE seems so daunting to many medical students:

It isn’t a test for “medical students”.

It’s a test for “aspiring medical doctors.”

At this point, most students come up with different strategies they believe will help them prepare effectively for the exams:

Buying pathology and pharmacology video courses

Getting multiple question banks

Downloading tons of textbooks and materials

Signing up for Kap... uh... big medical exam preparation courses (*wink)

…and lots more.

But all these resources and strategies hardly ever work because they all target the wrong things

Here's how:

Question banks don’t work because they’re mostly a measure of how good or bad you already are. Most of the time, you’re not retaining any new information for long periods after doing a question bank.

Also, if you’re not already good at integrating HYCs, most of the explanations for the correct answers will mean nothing to you.

The feeling of progress and satisfaction you have after downloading tons of textbooks and materials immediately leaves as soon as you realise how many months it’ll take to finish and revise all those materials, and do it over again enough times to actually remember something.

This plan takes way too long, consumes so much energy, and leaves you feeling more incompetent afterwards than you felt before.

And medical exam preparation courses simply take you through everything you already learnt in med school, but at a ridiculously fast rate that nothing makes sense at that speed. The question I always ask my students is this:

“If you struggled with this in a relatively slowly paced med school curriculum, what made you think paying $5,000 to a big company to teach you all of med school in 6 weeks would make you better on the USMLE exams?”

The truth is they won't! And it's not because you're stupid, dumb, lazy, a slow learner, or whatever you may be inclined to call yourself.

No, none of that.

The reason they don’t help you is simply because all these programs neither teach you how to integrate High-Yield Concepts that are bound to show up on the exam, nor how to properly approach the USMLE questions in order to increase your accuracy on every question you meet!

So after personally preparing over a hundred students to write their medical board exams, I’ve designed a framework to help you approach the USMLE with complete certainty and absolute confidence in your ability to do well on the exam.

Introducing...

The tested and proven system designed to turn average and below average medical students into excellent test takers on the board exams.

Here's what's Included In The Program

12 Weekly Coaching Sessions
(Value = $997)

Once a week, following the USMLE Preparation Roadmap, you’ll have a group coaching session where we’ll cover all the High-Yield Concepts (HYCs) that you’ll be tested on during your exams.

These HYCs will cover everything from broad subject areas like Renal and Endocrine Systems, and dive into more specific areas such as anticancer therapy. More importantly, I’ll show you how to use Integrative Mechanisms to link multiple organ systems so that you understand how they are all interconnected.

This will greatly help you in answering USMLE exam questions. We’ll also go through a few questions together, and review answers to multiple Q&A’s so that you have an insight into the structure of USMLE questions and how to figure out what the examiners are testing for in each question.

USMLE Test Taking Schedule Workbook

This workbook will help you track your tests as you’re going through the program so that you can measure your progress and see what areas you need to improve on. It’s important to track your progress during this 8-week program so that I’ll be able to help you with areas you may need more help in.

Here are some of the students I’ve worked with:

Someone on this page offered a suggestion to follow @studywithkennedy on instagram a little while ago! I’d like to thank whomever you are (unfortunately I don’t remember their name or cam I find the post). I did find him, followed and just had a one on one zoom section with him this past Saturday related to studying schedule and test taking strategies that was extremely helpful. I just wanted to register that and thank this group for the constant inspiring and motivating tips!

Having Kennedy as a tutor was a huge boost to my preparation and consequently to my final result. He took the time to review the basics, and illustrate the links from the basic to the complex principles in a concise and memorable manner. He wasn’t stingy with knowledge, and was able to strike a good balance between being patient and being strict. I highly and unreservedly recommend sessions with Kennedy in addition to your personal exam preparations.

I was not satisfied with my score in June NBME, I got very low mark. It was depressing for me but I don’t wanna give up so the next day of my result I took the decision to write NBME again in August (I had less than 1 month to prepare – I had only 3 weeks) and I informed you that I wanted to join in your NBME coaching.

I had strong belief that with your strong support and help in the academics I can get through this NBME within a month. And now, it did really worked well. I got a great jump between my first score (June) and second score (August) in NBME.

Thank you for your help and great support. I’m glad that I have chosen you as my tutor within this period. Thank you so much Dr Ken. Hoping to do more classes in upcoming NBMES and USMLEs.
